Today I've been working on some pretty cupcakes which are being given as a "thank you" to a little girls pre-school teachers. She's leaving to start primary school in September and her mum wanted a different and individual way thanking her daughter's teachers for all their help and support.

It's 3.00am in the morning of Amy's birthday and just finished her cake. Funnily enough she was born at about this time of the morning and I think this is about the time each year I've finally got to bed after making her cakes. Really pleased with how the cake has come out and looking forward to seeing Amy's face in the morning when she sees it. "I like to move it, move it!"
09.07.10
Finished the background scenery for the Madagascar cake - pleased with how the effect has worked (not tried this one before). Just got the figures to finish off.
08.07.10
After much deliberation, my daughter decided she wanted a Madagascar themed cake. (My kids do love to set me challenges!). Working on it as we speak - figures are proving to be interesting to do.

Judges came to visit today and took my circus cake away for final judging on Friday. I'll just have to wait now to find out how I've got on. Thanks Daniel for inspiring me to make the tent in red and yellow. You always have great ideas for my cakes!
The kids also named the clowns - Freddie (the one at the front) and Mr Magic (the one with the custard pie).

Wow, what a busy week it's been. The school fete on the 26th was great. We were busy getting kids to decorate cakes, which they did brilliantly and I sat making little football shirts which I painted the kids' names on. It was a real hit and the kids loved it. Unfortunately we were so busy we didn't get to take any photos.
I've also been really busy working on my competition cake for Celebration Cake Maker Of The Year. I'm really pleased with how it's coming on and hopefully the judges will be too.
23.06.10

Phew, have had a couple of days rest from cakes after a busy week. So pleased Lisa and Ben loved their cake - really makes it all worth while when I get to make cakes for such lovely couples - hope you had a wonderful day today. Also hope your friends transporting the cake to the venue didn't find the responsibilty too stressful! Although Lisa and Ben were having their own floral arrangement on the cake, I took the liberty of taking some photos with fresh flowers on the cake just to see how it looked.
08.05.10
Zoe seemed very pleased with her daughter's birthday "Belle" cupcakes and I hope her daughter had a lovely party. Did she eat the figure or keep it - that's the question???

Congratulations to Sophie and Ryan on your wedding day. The Reid Rooms just outside Chelmsford was a lovely setting for your wedding. Your cakes in the blue and silver star theme were all set up this morning and I hope you liked them. I thought the gift box cakes worked really well and the hint of raspberry in the gluten and wheat free cakes enhanced the flavour considerably.
30.04.10
